The second half of the Themed workshop: Darkest Hour at 3 am, featured a physical exploration of the exhibition The Darkest Hour at 3 am, curated by Alberta, at Current Plans. The session was interpreted and led by Yim Sui Fong .
Yim guided us through her participatory sonic-based methodology, drawing on her work in memory, pedagogy, and collective learning. It was an immersive experience that activated space, sound, and stories. We explored the concept of “learning through art,” repositioning artistic practice as a tool for social engagement.
During the hands-on session, participants were divided into groups to create four “workshops” by responding to the works exhibited by the artists in the exhibition.
Created workshops included using performance to create alternative rhythms against capitalist time, employing “machine language” to reflect on human habits, and developing physical strategies to process information overload. The session focuses on the workshop as a method to create a new format of engagement to “co-learn” between the artistic frameworks.
