During the SATA Fest, we held a series of talks that explored the dynamic intersections between art, technology, and society. Bringing together artists, researchers, and traditional craftsmen, these sessions delved into how digital and physical realities coexist today. Our main talks featured profound discussions on digital community building, algorithmic control in the Global South, the translation of family histories into speculative digital futures, and world-building through game engines.

Additionally, our Mentor-Mentee sessions highlighted the value of traditional heritage in an efficiency-driven age. Through projects rooted in local Hong Kong businesses—from letterpress printing and hand-engraved seal carving to a legacy tea company and a 60-year-old homeware store—participants shared how they used new media, bio-art, sonic installations, and electronic art to reimagine historical crafts. Ultimately, the talks celebrated the resilient humanistic dimensions of memory, labour, and community against the backdrop of rapid technological advancement.
